I have always used that gesture to indicate the persons headlight is out.

I use the tap my head and rub my tummy move to show others how coordinated I am. No wonder people always slowed down when I did it.

We just shoot up front to take the lead, then exit. Same thing when we need to refuel.

LEO, PO PO, 50
means all one thing, cops ahead. First I heard of LEO myself. Guess out here in Cali. we don't use the first term that much.
Just roll on it, if seen. My moto. mojo etc.
Happy riding.

Ive always heard of the "pat your helmet" gesture but never really seen anyone use it around here. I think I would just assume the guy is adjusting his helmet. I usually see oncoming riders use their left hand extended out while they are doing the "pushing down" motion to warn you to slow down for whatever is up ahead.

It has saved me a few times, each time from a friendly guy on a sportbike.

Once I gave the head tap to an oncoming guy on a Harley. He gave me the finger.
