Well, sure.

Those that didn't ride it can only repeat hearsay.

That said, the Hoka Hey organizers have a serious PR problem, and there are two ways to address it: work on brand integrity (do what they say they will do, and publicize it) or spin.

They don't even seem to have enough of their act together to spin.

What are you some kind of troll that go's around feeling bad for people that you dont even know, have you checked to see if tehy feel bad? I doubt it, you are a strange person, over exaggerated empathy will get you in trouble one day.

Interesting that the winner this year was the declared winner of last year's event, too. I have to be honest, this is the first time I had heard of this ride, but won't be riding next year for sure. Sounds like the guy is shady, but that is not for me to say... but I do have better things to spend a grand on than chasing a dream that probably will not pay out.

I ain't got a dog in this fight....But I would like to make an observation.

I have been a member or participant of this forum for about 5 years. Not having the time, money or skill to participate myself I have enjoyed the following writings.

Stroh's, detailed report of taking and passing the Motor Cop course a couple of years ago. Iron Asses writing last year of this challenge, placed me on the seat of his scoot with every word he wrote. And the Alaskapade trip left me rushing home from work to read the next chapter in his ride.

I thank them for providing us "arm chair, bad ***, want to be bikers" something to dream about and aspire too.

I will now sit back and wait for the next chapter from some courageous member of this forum to provide me with another inspiration and dream. Since I didn't participate I don't allow myself to criticize those who actually were there or put the event together.

It all seems clouded in a bit of hush hush, after weeks to not have a pay out, and the same guy wins both times. I wouldn't drop my money down on it, definitely seems fishy.

The money should be in an escrow account and verified by independent auditors like every other contest with this large of a prize.
