Default Starter rebuild FYI

If you ever have to pull your starter and intend to replace the starter clutch be sure that the jackshaft bolt fits the new jackshaft. This is how it was explained to me: When HD orders the starter clutch kit it costs them the same $ to have it sent with or without the new jackshaft in the box. In my case (1991 Heritage) they would have opened the box and thrown the new part in the garbage/ recycle bin and reused the old one. Found this out after paying a guy to rebuild the starter and install the new parts. I attempted to install the starter about a dozen times before I checked the fit with the old jackshaft that was in the box. Jackshaft bolt was 1/4 inch shaft. New jackshaft 3/16. Hope this helps someone out
