Default finding others to ride with

Why is it so hard to find people to ride with? I'm 25 and everyone my age has sports bikes or nothing, I got a harley but everyone I talk to says that it is a very selective group of people they ride with and they really don't invite people to ride with them. I want to know why because anyone I see I tell them anytime let me know but they ride with the same people all the time. I've been told before at bike runs that for a young guy i'm a very smooth rider, but I don't know maybe i'm wrong with that but I don't think i'm that bad. So my basic question is why don't people like to expand and ask others they meet to ride with them?

Maybe they are shallow? Go to some poker runs and the like, there are folks out there that would be glad to have another rider join them. Just be aware you're the new guy, walk softly, some folks are still none the less thin skinned. I blame this on all the pc crap!! Don't give up hope. If they don't want to ride with you then, f'em, don't ride with them if they asked!!

Quite possible you answered your own question in the same sentence. Like the others said... poker runs, charity rides, and a little time.

You must go find them...When you do, you will ride in the back so you can be watched by the tail gunner...When you prove you can ride without falling down, can ride at a steady speed or not endanger others in the pack, you might move ahead one bike length....That is the safest way.

Couldn't sleep. Watching the replay of the Oklahoma State/Iowa State game on ESPN. Not much of a hunter here, but it's all good.

Saw a noob rear end another HD once. We turned a corner, he was behind and gunned it. We were only going about 200 yards down that road, and as the leader turned he was hit from behind by the noob. I can still see his Sporty 10 feet in the air and flipping.

Since then I want unknown riders in front of me. I trust my ability to avoid them over their ability to avoid me.

May get hammered for this but you might want to join your local HOG chapter,They go on rides & basically teach new riders how to group ride & you just might make friends with a couple of folks that you can ride with on non HOG rides.
