Not surprised. ABout a year or so ago I got inside info that they were on the ragged edge and if the market slowed anymore they would close the doors. Surprised they lasted this long.

My mom lives in Big Bear so I went to their location exactly once. I walked around the merch section and the show room and not once person acknowledged I was there....for 30 minutes.

Sucks to see them go, since they were a draw for the Big Bear economy, but from what I read of their business practices it was inevitable.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

That's what happens when you try to base a business building something that has trended and now isn't trending anymore. In five years, all of your big custom bagger companies will be going through this.

That blows....I've been playing with the idea of getting their bare-bones kit this coming year.

(was going to get a sportster or a cafe-racer style bike to be an alternative to my big touring bike, but decided I really want a chopper instead)

It will happen as will the current craze for Baggers and Cafe racers and Bobbers .... and people like RSD will have to reinvent to stay in business as he is a one trick pony ...
