Default Cost of shipping rims to Canada

Hey guys, I have a question about shipping rims to Canada. First off I'll tell you that earlier this year I bought a set of 10" monkey bars from a company in the states and had to pay about 60 bucks shipping to the company. About 3 weeks later when they arrived, I got another 70 dollar charge from customs, and that was just for handlebars.

I am just wanting to know if anyone has any experience with shipping rims across the border and roughly what it cost.

I am very interested in a set from Southern Motorcycle Works and you can't beat there prices.

Thanks

If you live close enough to the border have them drop shipped to a warehouse at the border and go and pick them up there and bring them back across yourself. There are companies that specialize in this type of thing. I live just outside of Toronto and use a place in Niagara Falls, NY for this type of thing all the time. I can buy things much cheaper in the US but not all the places I buy from will ship to Canada. The drop shipment place I use charges $6 per package they take deliver of on my behalf. When I come back across the border I have to pay HST, but there's no way to avoid that - even if I were to get a package shipped to my house from the US. Beats the high cost of shipping to Canada and the ripoff broker fees some places charge to clear customs.

If it can't come USS ail, I won't order for delivery to Alberta

Don't use a shipping company like ups. I buy parts all the time from the states and only use USPS. Ups charges to ship, receive and a fee over and above.
USPS bud. Trust me. Or pay more. Up to you

I read this post and laughed. I sent a pair of rims up there to another forum member in need. I gave him the rims and figured I'd just pay the shipping. For all the hassle Canadian customs gave both Him and I, it would have been easier for me to just send him a $200 money order towards a set of rims, Lol.
