Default Brake Fluid.. Paint Damage to master cylinder

I bought my bike used..there is damage to the hand control cylinder as well as the foot control master cylinder..

Has anyone tried to sandblast/strip and repaint them..I was told it was the brake fluid that caused the damage!

I used hot water, tide an a scotch brite. Cleans up easy. And dot 3 will eat up the best paint if you don't get at it right away.

After a good scrubbin, sand with 320-400-600 grit. Spray can primer an paint works fine. Just sand the peeling edges smooth, or off.
