If you run a 95 or 98 kit in your bike are the heavier clutch springs really necessary?I spoke to a few experienced builders and they say not needed unless you ride 2up alot. What are your thoughts

 

It comes with most kits and why wouldn't you want it? Obviously someone thinks that you do because it is part of most kits.

 

I hear Barnett has great clutch springs.

 

If your going to upgrade the HP andTORQUE on your scoot ,you know your gonna use it.I figuire since the bikes down anyhow you might as well do it now instead of later. Trust me it sucks to do all that work only to find out your clutch can't put it to the ground.[:@]

 

I left the stock spring in when I did my 98 incher. Had to go back later and fix it, the motor makes too much torque down low for the stocker. Put in a Rivera clutch and all is well...........

My stock clutch seems to be doing fine.

 

If you are doing a 95, not much need for a heavier clutch springs. Most clutches are not burntout by power, but more operators error

 

I would install it, if it didn't come with your kit. Its a very inexpensive upgrade.

 

Let's say this about that,you will be the first to know that your clutch spring need changing,the first time you roll the throttle on in high gear and the motor rev's faster than you are accelerating.Your clutch will not last long if you leave it like that.Good Luck
