Default Quick Oil filer question Road King

OK, so here I am, bike all warmed up, strapped to the lift, up in the air,
and I went to take out the oil filter I had picked up awhile back.
For once in my life, I opted to read the manual, should have just passed
on that part, or I would be done now. j/k of course
Issues is, the owners manual states.
"Use of the premium10 micron synthetic media oil filter is highly recommended"
Part # 63789-99 chrome or 63731-99 black.

Somehow I got a 63796-77A.
Says "Original oil filter" on the HD box.
Is this for an evo? Or can I use it?
Bike is an 05 carbed road king, using HD 20-50 dino oil if that matters.

oh yea, the o ring on the drain plug, I came up with pn 11105, is this correct?

If I could guess, you guys are probably going to send me to the dealer for the right one, then its 50 miles, for the wrong damn filter...ratssss!

Might as well pick up the o ring for the plug, that will make the trip worth it!!

Thanks guys!

Make absolutly sure you have the right oil filter or else you can screw things up in a hurry. The biggest difference is the pressure release valve on the filter. If the its for say a shovel head which i believe will screw on, then it won't allow oil to bypass and starve the motor.

That's a EVO filter and you CANNOT use it I'm almost sure. But the "99" can be used on both EVO & TC.

I went to a hardware store for plug o-rings, 10 for $1. I'm good for 10 years.............. providing I can find them this fall

The "newer" 5 micron filter came into the world around 2005. The 10 will work but get the 5 as soon as practical. My 02 and 05 Dynas both used the 10 as a regular filter till the 5 hit the market. Just read the OP again don't use the -77A. I'd go to an Autozone or some place where they would have something for your bike. Something from K&N would be good.

If I'm not mistaken -77A would indicate introduced in 1977.
