Never hit a bear. Came up on one over near the Dragon/US129 couple of years ago. It was coming up an embankment from the river, crossing the road, and went up the hill on the other side. It was rather small. I slowed way down waiting on momma to show up. The cub went up in a tree about 5-6' and watched me go by. No chance I was stopping to rubberneck.

 

Real or not, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a Harley actually killed a grizzly. 600lbs of steel and aluminum moving at highway speed would knock the snot out of a rhinoceros.
