Anybody ever worn both? Like almost everybody else, I want a D.O.T. approved helmet that doesn't look so "goofy" on my head. FedEx just delivered my Skid Lid 1/2 helmet, and it looks goofier & mushroomier than the one I have now. I'm hearing that Daytona 1/2 helmets aren't quite so bad. How do you like your Daytona? Better than Skid Lid?

 

I'm just not convinced any 1/2 helm isn't going to look goofy. Trick is, never look at yourself in the mirror!

FWIW, I bought the Fulmer half helm, because it was noticeably smaller than the skid lids...

 

My head is so big the skid lid actually looks good on me. I like it. Ultimately who gives a ****? You can look pretty or you can be safe. There is no such thing as a helmet that makes you handsome, at least for my big monster self.

You can wear a full face and cover yourself up if that is important but ultimately a helmet isn't gonna increase your hunk factor.

 

I just wear a novelty skid lid, and added a DOT sticker to the back....found it at a mc rally...

Never been hassled.

I love my Daytona Carbon 1/2 helmet. Fits well. It's comfortable and it's the least mushroom head, DOT option available.

Get a headtrip helmet, not dot certified but as close as you can get without being it

 

Try the VEGA XTS Naked....Make sure its the Naked....Best I've found so far.

I guess skid lid started making their's bigger or something. I bought mine in 2008 and it doesn't give much if any of the goofy mushroom look. I've even been stopped by the gate guards coming on base but all they can do is check it out and send me on my way. I'll probably keep wearing it as long as I can get away with it.
