Default Why Don't you Ride to Work?

As I was riding to work today I wondered why most people limit their riding to a weekend activity. Some can't ride due to their occupation or parking arrangement, which might result in theft. But for the majority, why don't you ride to work? Why the cage?

I work from home and my wife got tired of the exhaust fumes between the bedroom and my office.

Mine is my daily commuter. It's only 3.5 miles to work, but I change the route up and go the 'long' way sometimes. At 40+ mpg, it makes sense.

I work off-pavement all day and have to carry more tools than I could load onto a bike (even a GS1200 wouldn't work). Great job; just can't use a bike...

The Night Train is my commuting vehicle. I love it and it gets much better MPG than my winter vehicle, a ford F-250. Also the lack of luggagfe space keeps my wife from asking me to run errands for her on my trips to and from work.

I work as a doctor (oncologist) and I can't arrive at my office smelling gasoline...

Only 8 miles from the office and the dress code does not allow for riding attire or footwear. No biggie.

My car gets better mileage that really isn't an excuse but the weather is. I ride to work when possible.
