I could see this playing out multiple ways. Humor me first: douche bags sit on bike take a few pics you come out demanding he get off the scoot. While getting off he trips and falls hitting hard on ground. Friend gets your licence plate number. You drive away. They go to the security shop ask if saw any thing. They call police for a report, making up stuff. They then sue you.
Or if you gad the bike locked and they were physically able to break it. That could also play against you the owner.
Its a sue happy world and who knows it could get in front of the right judge that sides with this crap.
Oh and yeah you handled it better than me.

If I notice the scratch, I'd asked to take another pic with my camera and then after that I'd ask for his name and address so I'd know where to send the bill after I get my bike repainted.

He lives in Spain. They may be more common now, but when I was in Germany in the 80's for almost 20 months, I never saw a Harley. Plenty of guys dressed like bikers on scooters and mopeds and dual sports, but not one Harley. Me and one of my friends used to talk about how cool it would be to have a Harley there.
