Wrong kind of attention.....
Came out of the hardware store today to find a group of guys gathered around my bike, with some great fat bloke sitting on it having his photo taken.
I shouted from the other side of the car park for him to get the **** off my bike, and when I got there he apologised and said he only wanted to have a foto, but I was so mad I told him and his mates to **** off, which they did.
Checked the bike over when I got home and tank is scratched, and theres greasy hand prints all over it.
Fortunately its denim paint, and when I've calmed down I'm confident I can get the scratch out.
It was midday, and the car park even has security.
What would you have done?

Nothing different than you have I think. They might have turned on you and done more damage than a couple of scratches. Sorry to hear of this buddy but the only thing you can do is to try to put it behind you.

Id have done the same as you. You just dont sit on someone elses bike. If they drove a convertable would they mind you opening the door and sitting in it to see how it feels?

I think you've done just the right thing.
Ok, you could have checked for scratches while the a**holes were still there. But what then? Call the police? All of them would have testified that they did not scratch your tank.

Next time I go to that line of stores I'm going to park AT the security station and PAY them to keep an eye on my ride.

I haven't been that calm and fortunately he didn't really start bleeding till he was on the sidewalk .
Came out during a run and there was a 20 something looked like the was tweaking his *** off sitting on my bike bouncing on the seat jerking the handlebars around going Vrooom ! Vroom ! , I get up next to the idiot and he just looks at me and said " What do you want ? " I reacted badly ...........
