What to look for?
I am looking at a 65 panhead soon and wondering if anyone has advice on what to look for? it is a (electraglide) close to original, been restored recently, matching tranny & engine #'s.
And, what is the price range of these 65's?
I have had shovelheads & evo's but not to familiar with the Pan.
thankyou

Is it an electric start? '65 was the only year for it; also external oil lines.
I would check for stripped fasteners, case cracks (flatside kidney motors had a tendency to crack at the case boss where the bolt goes through, particularly the one in front of the front jug) compression, do a thorough test ride & remember, it ain't gonna ride, handle, or accelerate like a TC; not even close.
If you see a puddle of oil under it--it's normal!

I love my '53- It has never let me down or stranded me.
Not taking anything away from this forum, but these guys help me a lot with minor aches and pains..

I recommend this book just for detail repair and replacement of parts..
