Question Rush Slip Ons

I have a 2012 softtail deluxe. just put on 1.75 rush slip ons. is it recommended to upgrade air cleaner/download? Some folks i ask say no and others say yes. don;t have the money at this moment so i want to hold off for several months. will the slip ons ONLY hurt my engine, performance, etc. Thanks.

You're fine with just the slip-ons. You won't need to adjust the tune until you free up the intake side.

I have the same slip-ons on a 2010 Deluxe. Was told no remapping needed, so didn't. has run fine since...about 2.5 years.

Thanks! How do you like the rush sound versus stock? Big difference?

Rush mufflers will definitely sound better and will not hurt a thing, might get some gurgling or backfiring though.

You will be fine with just doing the slip-ons, but you will probably have some decel popping. The factory mufflers have a lot of backpressure and silence the popping from the factory shitty lean EPA friendly tune, but with the more free flowing mufflers you will hear it.

When you get the $ to open up the air cleaner, then you will need to tune your bike....& when you do forget about the download and save up and get a proper tuner/tune done.

Start saving, but for now you will be fine with just the slip-ons..

I just put a set of Rush 175's on my 2011 883 Super Low. When I ask at the Dealer they were one of the three that they recommended I use and that they install that remapping was not required. They told me as long as I used the 175's and did not change the air intake I would be fine. Well I got a set used (but ya cant tell it) off of EBay for $60 and put em on myself. Sweet sound and no problems!!
