I spoke to a dealer about getting rid of the cat in my exhaust system He mentioned that S&S had come out wit ha set that fit the 103 inch engine and were about $500. That seems a bit steep to me for a set of hollow pipes. Am I out to lunch or is $500 too steep?

I don't know anything about those pipes, but there are a bunch of brands. Full Sac, Vance and Hines, Rinehart, Fuelmoto. They're all in that range. Harley Davidson stands for Hundred Dollars. Everything Harley related has some mark-up.

I haven't used their pipes, but I used Fuelmoto for 2 Power Commanders and they were awesome.
