Default Do u need to Retune with Rush Slip ons?

Some people say u can just put the slip ons and call it good. others say u have to re tune it. my stealer said id have to have a $450 retune if i wanted the pipes on. can i get away with just the slip ons and no retune?

They tried to tell me that too, when I told them I wasn't changing the air cleaner, they said "oh, then you should be just fine." I was concerned about the re-tuning issue as well, but havn't had any trouble with my slip-ons (Rush)... Though, I was told 2" baffles was the largest I could go without having tuning problems. PS. I was told via my own asking around, like you are... don't ever assume the dealer is always on your side (but sometimes they are).

they recommended screaming eagle stage one for 140, and then the 450 retune. plus the cost of pipes and labor

tk353 is right, too... It's a good idea to eventually re-tune, etc. I plan on doing all that eventually, but I need to save up a few bucks first. Oh, by the way, changing the mufflers on your own is really easy, if you are patient so as not to sratch up your pipes. (just another way to save in labor costs, anyway)
