Default Truing - balance stand recommendations?

I posted in the wheel section, never got a response. I have several rims to lace up and figured I would finally spring for a medium quality one.

Suggestions?

I simply use two close tolerance ball bearings...

On a piece of all thread, with nuts/washers, and the spacers from your axle in a frame I welded together. Place the assembly in the frame and attach a dial indicator. I use this same rig for balancing also. A cheap alternative is a frame that harbor freight sells. The only thing critical is a solid frame and a dependable dial indicator...
