Default loctite OCD strikes again

Help me please.......... going mad here
Took my fork covers off to ward off the last of the Tenerife salt from the chrome forks as I no longer live there (still getting use to the UK weather), and I didn't see the remains of loctite on the four bolts that go into the lower clamp that hold the fork covers on, so I didn't loctitie when I put them back. Now wondering if I should have loctited them after all.
I have OCD and this kind of thing drives me fvcking nuts big time.

any help appreciated.

I use blue Loctite on all bolts except the ones that require red Loctite. Besides, if it is driving you that crazy, go back and put Loctite on them.

Cheers.

Are you talking about the stainless cover that goes over the triple trees (front and back) that has a little indentation on the front to make room for the headlight?

No. Round covers over fork sliders. Secured with a bolt front and back.

OCD will do you in if you let it. Do what you need to do and fight your OCD.

If they're just decorative use green loctite on the screws. If there's pressure on the parts use blue. If you never want to remove it again (without heating it) use red.

Never had a fastener come loose since I bought my Softail in `89, and never used locktite on anything but the compensator, clutch hub and pulley retaining nuts.

Solid mounted Evo engine, the bike shakes...

But really, wouldn`t it have been easier to just go pull the fasteners and put locktite on them as posting on the forum?

Don`t use green locktite...unless you really like those screws so much that you never want to remove them.

Use blue 242 Locktite.

I have a friend with OCD. You will not feel comfortable until you have Loctite on the little screws even if everyone tells you you will be fine without it. I suggest you purchase a tiny tube of the creeping Loctite. Then you will have the comfort of knowing you have Loctite on the screws, and you can do it without disassembly. This Loctite wicks into the threads without the need to take the bolts apart. It works, guaranteed!

I'm obsessive as anyone, but I've never bothered with loctite on all the minor bits and pieces, and never had anything fall off the bike in the nearly 20 years I've ridden it. If it were me, I wouldn't worry. If it bothers you, use the green loctite, like has been suggested.
