Come on man, we don't want to make wiring harnesses.

Starting with the 2014 models this is now an option

Now you see how serious we take a flaming wiring harness near the gas tank issue..

If yours should happen to do this, It'd probably be the First one as I've Never heard of it happening.

You do have Insurance on your bike that's paid up??

[quote=dan conner;12099519]this is the guy that showed up at a bike night, and started talking to a friend and left his bike idling for 40 minutes...now he is looking for excuses to use with his dealer to get it fixed under warranty. when the moco tests bikes, they purposely abuse them-far cry from needlessly cooking the motor while shooting the chit with your buddy. then telling the dealer what you did, and expecting warranty to cover it. things like this run up the cost of bikes for all of us.[/quot
Dan, not looking for any excuses.
JUst trying to get my bikr repaired.
Ive owned 7 other bikes, most of them air cooled.....and never had a problem like this.
Harley makes a superior bike to the jap bikes Ive ridden, yet I have been able to sit at bike week in 90plus degree heat on main street idling like a beast for sometimes 45 mins to an hour on those other bikes.
Never a big deal...never a problem.
I understand that in a perfect world ,no one ever does anything dumb, or wrong....must be nice there.
In any case, an idling bike should NEVER burst into flames while you ride it......whether it idles for 40 mins or 140 mins.
If I can get the factory to pay for it, youre damn right Im gonna.
Don't be a hypocrite....if something shady happened to your investment you would explore your options exactly as Im doing. read my post, I asked for negative comments to be held, I know I messed up, but that doesn't mean by any stretch that something isn't wrong with the bike.
A warped head? My fault
A blown gasket? My fault
Engine malfunction? My fault

Bike bursting into flames under the gas tank?
HMMMMMMMMMM........not my fault.

If an air cooled bike sat idling long enough to catch a wiring harness on fire but did not cook the engine, I would say that this is one stout freaking engine and that is exactly what I want in a bike.

Yes, bike ins is paid in full for the year.

And If me demanding a quality product for a premium price drives up the price of the bikes for you Dan, are you sure that IM the one you should be venting at?
Or maybe you thank me, because without guys that question the "system"...we would all be stuck with crap and no recourse.

I thought that I read you jump started the bike and let it run until it was out of gas and the battery was dead and it was burnt then? Either way, I wouldn't think it should catch on fire. But I would suspect other issues.
