this is the guy that showed up at a bike night, and started talking to a friend and left his bike idling for 40 minutes...now he is looking for excuses to use with his dealer to get it fixed under warranty. when the moco tests bikes, they purposely abuse them-far cry from needlessly cooking the motor while shooting the chit with your buddy. then telling the dealer what you did, and expecting warranty to cover it. things like this run up the cost of bikes for all of us.

Since your bike is air cooled (meaning the "wind" cools it down) yes, there is a limit of idle time.. What that limit is, I dunno. What I do know is you can seriously hurt a new engine by overheating it.

How long did you let it idle?

another picky new harley owner. jez, they all have a couple problems when new. a firesuit and a flack vest and all is well. got to roll with some minor imperfections!!
