For those looking at Wesco Engineer boots... I love mine! Best boots I've ever had... and I've had a lot.

Wesco's normal price is $452. That's a GREAT deal. This is where I got mine for the same price during a Veterans day sale... Worth every penny.

I had a pair custom made. Not engineer. Love them. Well built, leather is thick not some cheap crap. Takes a bit to wear in but once you do you will love them.

 

Dang. Too bad I just bought a pair of engineers. Great deal.

 

Good deal for a great boot but for that $$$ id rather have them custom made for my feet by White's. If you have a normal Bates will be great.

What's better about Whites over Wesco? Not trying to start anything just curious.

Id say for the most part they are about the same quality. The Whites have a built in arch support and are custom made to your foot after you send in your built sheet. I have a size 15 EEE flat foot so Bates or Wesco's dont work for me. If you have a normal foot than you have a wider variety to chose from. If you have Sasquatch feet then you have to get them custom.

You can get custom fit boots for the same price as off the shelf if you get your feet measured while your at Sturgis.

But then who can resist adding custom features like lining, or a knife pocket or extra height or a different sole some of which will cost extra. I must have had a lucky day when I ordered mine as I got a free knife pocket, free tee shirt, and free non standard sole. And by the way, their tee shirt is one of the best in my collection.

 

Wesco builds custom boots too. My hooves are 15 EEEE they built mine.
