I hear you. Using the back to the bike technique, grabbing the handlebars and saddle bag guard, and then walking backwards, it popped right back up. I was on a slope too. Not too difficult.

If you find you can't lift the bike, have somebody stand on the floorboard on the opposite side as you lift. Their weight will help and you won't be at risk for a ruptured disc. Remember also to put the bike in gear before you start to lift it.

I volunteered to lift a bike in Daytona last year in front of a crowd. I couldn't manage it without somebody standing on the floorboard, but at least I know the mechanics. A week later, a stranger dropped his Goldwing a few yards behind me and I was able to show him what to do.

Sucky deal for OP and glad bike's OK. For the member requesting pics...why would you want to see someone's pride & joy on its side...?? In the moment of panic you'll want to upright bike ASAP vs. sit & take selfies while fluids go where they shouldn't.
