Default What's up with Insurance?

My renewal came Saturday for my Road King. The cost more than doubled from last year. I will be calling as soon as Allstate opens this morning! I could understand it if I had a ticket or accident.
Any chance they made a mistake?

Insurance companies normally don't make a mistake when it comes to money. They just always want more. The leaches...

Anyway, it sounds like its time for you to let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages and find another insurance company.

I have Farmers Insurance for my house, two cars and my scoot so I get a so called group discount. Its not the best deal I could probably find on my bike but its so convenient having it all taken out of my checking account once a month its hard to go somewhere else.

Good luck and let us know what they say...

My rates went up based on miles ridden.

The wages of sin..........

Fun costs money and the insurance company wants to have more fun.

There are many, many factors that go into your insurance rate and each company has different tiers of pricing based on certain factors. These factors could be tickets, accidents, credit scores, age, # of drivers on the policy, location. Or the company could have just had a rate increase in your area. Not know your particular case it would be hard to say why it went up. Contact your agent and they should be able to tell you. Shop around……that is the best way to know you are getting a fair price.

The 2nd year for my Outlaw tripled, going to almost $2k/yr. No tickets either, they just decided to re-rate my city (Dallas county) as part of the downtown, which the downtown Dallaswas a high crime/accident area. I dropped them and got 'cheaper' insurance ($1200/yr)

I changed from allstate this past november to Farmer's. saved 150.00 on my truck and almost 500.00 on my 05 roadking. and got better coverage on the bike than I had before,,, I changed the house over too but didn't save anything there. I've had allstate, erie, progressive and statefarm, and none of them were able to beat Farmer's.
