Default Replacing Existing (too tall) Apes

Hey guys,

I looked all around the forum for advice on this and couldn't find anything. I just picked up a 2009 Street Bob and the guy who owned it before me was a little taller. I'm looking at swapping out the Roland Sands 16" King Apes for either classic 14" apes or a 12" T-bar.

What I want to know is, will the existing cables and electrical extensions work on the smaller bars, or will I need to get shorter cables and cut the wires to fit the new bars. I can do that if necessary, but I'd prefer to just swap out the bars relatively painlessly if I can.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think you will have an issue with the 14" apes. While the cables will be fine for the t-bar, they will not be aesthetically pleasing because of the extra length. You could always add risers to the t-bars for some more height.

There should be no issue with the wires. Just stuff the extra length into the frame under the gas tank.
