Default replace bars, not cables...

So, I have the stock mini apes on my 13 street Bob... My budget is tight Cuz I'm getting married (I almost died when she saw I bought a new bike), so I can't go to town on mods yet. Not gonna lie though, I'll be putting most of my play money into my mustang when I can...

Anyways, stock mini apes, want new bars, thicker, like 1.25" or 1.5", and taller, but don't wanna spend the money on cables and all that stuff... I understand I can't get some 16" apes, but what can I got? I hear there are apes with 1" where it matters (mount, grips) and larger everywhere else... Lemme know, thanks for the help...

I just put a set of 1.25" dia. 12" apes on my SB and had to replace all the cables. I was able to run the wires internal with out having to extend them, but the cables fell just a little short. especially the brake line. in the end they were a little costly, but you can't beat the look and feel. thicker bars look better on the SB, at least imo.

Aren't stock mini apes 12"? So... I guess I don't get why you'd need new cables... Bar end difference in width?

i have an 06, they didn't change to 12" till 09. I also think the shape of the new bars had something to do with it.

My 10' has stock mini's which are 10". Shape of the bars or routing of the cables is the only reason why I could see needing all new cables. Lots of people have put 14" on without changing ALL the cables, maybe they changed stuff in 13'.
