Default Questions???

I just purchased an '06 road king. I was wondering if there were any quirks I should know about before I make a long haul trip. Or just quirks in general folk may have experienced.

How many miles on the bike? Have the cam chain tensioners been inspected/changed?

I don't know of any quirks. Just make sure all the required maintenance is up-to-date. You should also carry a tool kit with tools specific for your bike so you can make quick repairs or maintenance while on the road. You should also make a plan ahead of time on how the bike will get towed/serviced in case you get stranded.

Thanks. My insurance includes free road side assist and towing so I am good there. 36k miles so I got the extended warranty on it. I will check the cam tension tonight when I get home. The first thing I did was buy a manual and tool kit. Before I take any long trips I plan on doing a tear down and rebuild myself so I know the bike inside and out.
