Default Is All Fuel Line Created Equal?

I was replacing my enricher cable assembly today and noticed the fuel line from the shut off valve to the carb was brittle.

I went down to the auto parts store and got replacement hose for $2. Not braided like the oem hose, but it didn't cost me $25 at the dealership either. Will it suffice?

It will be fine. Fuel lines are to be changed in 5 year intervals, keep an eye on it and if it shows signs of dry rot or cracking, replace it again for $2.00....
