Default Help !! Rusty oil tank inside!!

Hey guys , I did a mess .. 3 months ago, I powdercoated my oil tank on my FXS 2013. I washed it inside with water and soap to remove sand particles left from the sandblast .. aaaaand it seems I didn't let it dry properly because now it fuc***** rusty inside . Now , how do I remove this ??! Brake oil ? White vinegar ?? Do I need to apply epoxy after the clean up ??

I won't sleep tonight ..I swear..

Try some type of solvent (turpentine) & some small ball bearings & shake the **** out of it.
If that works, use acetone for wash down. Get yourself some light weight oil coat the tank. I would not epoxy it. You don't want any to flake off. Good Luck.

Coca-Cola. And a gas tank sealer of your choice. Really!

I`ve seen too many fuel tank sealers fail to even trust it in a fuel tank, let alone an oil tank.

Slosh around some small metal parts with mineral spirits, flush it, put oil in it and slosh it around and you will be good.

I did:
Bought muriatic from Home Depot. Used 1 ga and filled rest of tank with water. In about 20 min. your gas tank will be completely clean, except top, which is not covered with acid solution. You need to turn tank upside down. After you are done, flush it a few times, then use soda solution to get rid of acid. Keep in mind that muriatic acid doesn't dissolve rust, it separates it from steel, you have to flush rust pieces really well. Good luck.
There are some videos on youtube about acid cleaning.
