Default Question about pinlock shields for helmets

This is for folks who have pinlock shields on their FF helmets. Do you leave your pinlock shield attached to your visor shield year round? Or do you take it off when the cold weather goes away? Any of you experiencing fogging of your shields in warmer weather?

I have a tinted Pinlock on my Arai and I leave it on year round. No fogging ever. If you are getting fogging in the area of the Pinlock you may need to adjust it to make the seal tight...

Had you experienced fogging on a non-pinlock visor during hot weather?

Yes - a full face, hot weather and a cold rain = nasty fogging

Too much hassle to remove the pin-locks, so mine stay on all the time. There is a small silicone bead seal on the permiteter of every pin-lock and eventually it develops small gaps over time and that's when you get fog. Time to replace the Pin-Lock when that occurs

I keep my pinlock on year round on my clear visor. Swap it out for a tinted visor without pinlocks when it's bright and sunny out.

Pinlocks are highly underrated.

I leave mine on all the time. I stick with a clear one and wear sunglasses during the day. It's a PITA to remove/install, and I don't want to introduce dirt/debris between the inner/outer shields.

On all the time. It's a little PITA to put them on without finger prints. They work great and haven't fogged on me. I have the Shoei 1200. I also have a 3/4 helmet that fogs all the time when you are stopped. But it's easy to crack it open just a little to clear the fog.
