Default Chrome rear signal light falling off

I went riding the other day and the chrome signal fell off on one side, like in the photo. Does anyone know how to screw it back in without removing the rear wheel? It doesn't look like there's any easy way to get to the bolt without totally removing the wheel and I can't believe that would be the case.

Thanks!

I've removed & installed both bolts with the tire on. Not much room, but doable. Helps if the bike is on a jack.

Put the bike on a jack and take enough weight to just lift the tire up,

Undo the rear shock bolts and jack the bike up a few inches more and put the bolt in with loctite. While you're there, loctite the other bolt too.

Jack it up as high as you can and let the tire hang under it's own weight. 1/4" drive ratchet not sure what socket, get on your back and reach up. Feel for the stud and hand start it.
Unless you have gorilla hands and arms then get some one skinny to do it

Take the left side off too and replace the whole thing with the shorter bar that’s available from HD (68611-98), Drag (2020-0566), or Kury (2384). Makes the rear look a bit nicer IMO and shows more of the bags. Can get it for under $40.

No studs, the bracket is threaded to accept bolts.
