Default Seat suggestions, 2021 Heritage

Hi all, just purchased a Heritage over the weekend and one of the first things I’m looking at replacing is the seat. Any suggestions? Something that’s comfortable for longer rides.

I do long rides on my 2018 Heritage and have no problems with the stock seat. Did a 496 mile day in June without a sore ***. Quite a few other 400+ mile days and the seat is fine. Of course I am 5'9" tall and weigh 155 pounds (and 69 years old). Maybe the OEM seat was designed for "average" sized guys like me. Lots of threads about different seats in the Forum.

I’ll try and give the stock seat a fair shake before I replace it then. It didn’t seem terrible when I was on the bike at the dealership but you don’t really know until you’ve ridden it for an extended period of time. Generally my experience with stock seats is that they make my *** and back sore after a few minutes but I’m also fat so I’m sure that doesn’t help lol.

I have a Mustang vintage wide touring w/driver backrest on my Heritage, firm, supportive and comfortable. This is the second bike I've had a Mustang on and have been happy with them both times.

Does it raise you up or anything? I’m a short dude so that’s somewhat a concern lol

You can always get your seat reworked at Mean city and save some money in the process. that is if you find you need to do that after riding yours for a while.

Ride the bike a couple weeks and several hours long rides to decide if it not for you.
My GF is 5' 2", we had Mean City Cycles remove an inch of foam to lower her and add an inch to the back to move her forward plus had a heater installed. She's had the seat on two different bikes now and is very happy. Give MCC a call to discuss options on modifying your seat.

Very slightly. If it helps I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam and can flatfoot it while wearing my riding boots or tennis shoes.

My 2019 Deluxe has basically the same seat (I believe) as your Heritage. I was ok with it for the first 18 months, but decided to replace it after I went on an 800 mile trip. I ordered a Sundowner Solo Seat as soon as I got home. Haven't taken another trip since, but it's way more comfortable on a 3-4 hour ride.

The stock seat on my ‘29 Heritage was awful. The seating surface slopes rearward, forcing my tailbone into the rear kick-up. It was painful to ride for more than a half hour.

I ended up going with the old style 52006-47B “deluxe solo seat.” It’s the most comfortable seat for long rides I’ve ever used. Yes, I sit a bit higher, but I appreciate the extra leg room as well.
