super +1 mr. dan
we had a fellow mechanic that would show up with his tool box full of snap-on tools. we started calling them "show & go" tools.
because he would show up, open his box and we had to cover ours eyes from the blinding light of chrome, then he would close it and go, leaving the rest left to do the over-haul.
but guess what, cheaper brands of proto like challenger and others do the same job.
even hf has good tools IF you know what to look for.

Not cheap, but not crazy expensive like the Snap On units.

For about 40 bucks or so you can go to Home Depot. They sell them there. Husky brand with lifetime warranty.

Last month I put a new derby cover on my bike. Watched all the videos seeing what I needed to do. All the videos said to torque down to 8 inch foot pounds. Looked all over for a cheap torque wrench in 1/4 drive. Finally borrowed one from Autozone. 50 buck deposit and when returned you get your 50 bucks back.

I’m not a mechanic not at all I try to do basic stuff to truck and bike. Like oil plugs brakes. I’ve used the harbor freight ones and have had no problems for a couple years. I use em for home use and I feel they are more accurate than me feeling like it’s tight enough.

A Harbour Freight 1/4 dive in/lb or the 3/8 in ft lb for a garage mechanic will work fine.

Garage sales can be your friend here. I just bought a Gearwrench 1/2 electronic wrench and a CDI clicker type 1/2 for $20 at a garage sale. Brand new in the box's.

An old wise mechanic say.... A Torque Wrench can be your best friend, but they need to be periodically calibrated, otherwise they can be your worst enemy. What's in your tool box

SK makes very good torque wrenches and CDI makes Snap On wrenches I believe.
