Torque cam on 2019 SGS
For some reason, new **** just keeps popping up for me to do on this bike. I don't know how it happens. I do one thing, then think to myself "Self, you should do the cam next". So here I am, looking up stuff about cam upgrades.
I watched some videos that had some issues, specifically with bolts braking when removing lifters...how common is that? I THINK I can do this myself. I would also replace the oil pump since my bike is 2019 that came with older oil pump. I can follow directions and do most of my stuff myself, unless it's pain in the ***, then I pass it on to the pros. From what I am seeing, it's little involved but nothing that is a rocket science.
The only thing that I don't understand from watching the videos is when they install lifters. They adjust them by turning the rear wheel. I do not understand that. What do they feel for in there?
The next thing is checking some measurements once the cam is installed. I do not have that took and I am not sure what they are measuring with it.
But, removing everything, using the plate tool to remove and press in new bearing I can do. Just couple little steps in there that kind of worry me.
To those who did the cam yourself without being a pro mechanic, any tips? I have all my tools, including right handed screwdriver....

They turn the wheel to rotate the engine ( bike is in hi gear, plugs out )
To install and set adjustable pushrods for lifter preload the cam has to be on the base circle ( i.e. low point) for that particular valve
Not sure what "measurement" you`re referring to ?
