Default Adjust Clutch Cable

Hello all,

Got a used 2007 Harley Road King converted into Street Glide. Previous owner did a lot of work to this bike. Both brake and clutch cables are steel braided. I adjusted the throttle fine. I am now looking into help adjusting the clutch with steel braided cables. Clutch lever has zero play and it’s quite hard/heavy to pull in. Really gets a good forearm workout going on. I would like to soften it a bit to be more manageable, unless if this is just how it feels being steel braided? Any ideas or experiences?

Thanks

The steel braid is essentially a cover, still has the plastic sleeve in there, it does not add any additional friction. It would use the same adjustment procedure in your service manual.

Great thanks! I will look for the adjusting nut and try and get the levers cleaned and cables lubricated as soon as I can!

Lubing that clutch cable will almost always improve the situation. Whatever you choose to use…Don’t rush the procedure.
