Adding an external breather and oil catch tank to my SE-110". Ordered a catch tank, DK Custom Products (dk-4st-cc-blk) but I'm disappointed. The closing mechanism is a threaded pipe attached to the lid and a threaded hole in the bottom of the container. The threaded pipe is too short so to open it you just need to turn the lid 270 degrees. That is just about 1 thread engagement, which I think is too little. I contacted DK and first they said that it should be like this but I did not agree. Then they said that they could send me a new threaded pipe but when I measured the pipe it was the same length that they have on all of this tanks so it wouldnt help me with a new one. After this they didnt want to help me so I had to make a longer pipe myself.
That’s frustrating. Sounds like they knew it was a design flaw but didn’t want to fix it. Making your own longer pipe was the right move should’ve been right from the factory.
I use this same catch can and have no problem with it.
The can threads on from the top not the stem in the bottom, that just aligns it.
mine seems to have ample amount of thread and in no way will come off easy if its threaded in all the way.
