Extended Warranty Marketing Campaign
I'd imagine a bunch of you get these marketing campaigns. Anyone see any need for post 2020 M8 softails? I've got most all my upgrades and weak points upgraded, I don't think so.
What are you all doing?

You mean the same as the aftermarket car warranty barkers we're advised to avoid (limited coverage hidden in fine print, slow-wake payments, etc.)?
At least on the auto side, the collective wisdom is to only go with the corporate warranties (if desired), and only if likely failure items are expensive (esp. integrated controllers and displays).
Is there something different for motorcycles?

For all the stories you hear on how someone was saved by a maintenance plan, the majority make the payment and never make a claim.
The odds are in favor of the insurance company, otherwise they would not exist.

That always used to be the case - before the advent of technoglitz electronics, so I am more asking about the latest bikes with all the controllers on them.
I agree with Dan, I bought my bike new in 2022, I bought the extended warranty for $2,387 (Canadian so $1,744 USD) and have only recovered/claimed one rear tire in 2025 (took a roofing nail) I was compensated/saved $489.23. I have 2 years left of extended warranty and have had zero issues with the bike. If I had to do it again, I'd pass on extended warranty - I say this on my model as I did my research and found the bike pretty bullet proof for dependability. I was/am also handcuffed with modifications with the warranty so only able to buy SE parts to keep warranty valid. In the same breath I'm ok with SE parts and my style of riding I only use 30% of its power most of the time. If I was a person who wanted to build up engine I'd pass on any extended warranty and go hog wild on it. Just my thoughts.

It is still the case.
If it weren`t true now, extended service contract companies would not be in business.

My extended coverage paid off on my 2019 Dodge Grand caravan to the tune of $1700-1800 dollars. Have not used it on my 2020 RAM 3500 truck or my 2019 Harley FLHTP. I bought it mostly for the electronic coverages. And the coverage on my Harley is not limited
All with the same company through my credit union. And the cost was 1/2 of the official HD or the Dodge/RAM dealer. I do not regret that purchase.
