Default mpg??

Just as a matter of interest, what kind of fuel mileage do you guys get?

Only reason I ask is I noticed on the US HD site it quotes 44/50mpg for an EFI WG (no figures on the UK site) which pretty much matches up with what I'm getting...except I also noticed it quoted the tank as 5.1 gals. On the UK site it says the tank is 19 litres which works out at (according to my calculator!) 4.2 gals. Then I realised there is quite a difference between US and UK gallons, so maybe my mpg is a little under expected. Perhaps its the Stage 1 that makes the difference - what do you think?

40 to 50 on my Standard depending on how much riding I do in town.

I was pretty impressed by that post until you said you didn't know the difference. I didn't realize there were two different kind of gallons...but now that you say it, "Why wouldn't there be!"

1 US gal = 0.83 UK gals (apparently). Now my 46mpg x0.83 = 38mpg US (average), which seems to be somewhat under the HD claim of 44-50 mpg. I do very little "town" riding.

....unless, of course, we have different length miles as well...

I noticed that there was a comparison between liters and gallons, could it also depend on the quality of the gas?
