Default FLHTPI Saddlebags

[align=left]Have a 2005 FLHTPI with ABS saddlebags can not find the right rivets for the hinges.
Had installed push button latches and had painter fill in rivet holes on lid. Removed all hardware and painted bags.
Ordered rivets (hd# 90965-63) but were to short they didn't even stick through just the bags nevermind the hinge and bag.
Does anyyone have the right part number??

The hinges use two different rivets. For the top tworivets in the lid, PN 8551; for the bottom two lid rivets and the rivets for the lower portion of the hinge that goes in the bottom of the saddlebag, PN 90965-63.

PN 8551 is also used for thereinforcing/backing plate in the lock plate. PN 90965-63 is also used for the lanyard backing plates.

This is from the HD Parts Manual for '04 Police models. Perhaps they shipped the wrong part to you.

Give HD Customer Service a call; perhaps there is a misprint in the PartsManual.

Edit: Typo in PN corrected.

My typo--not -03 and regret any inconvenience caused.

Did you use the newer, -06 rivets in your ABS bags?

Yes the 06 parts list worked (90965-64)
I don't understand that an old part fits the newer abs bags 03 and up.
Before 03 they were fiberglass?
Also when you look at the parts list picture it shows different rivets for the same part of the hinge
on different year parts list
thanks
