Default parts dimensions...

hello all! does anyone know where i can go to find specs on dimensions for parts on bikes? like length of shift linkage, or bolt hole sizes on footpegs, or specs on triple trees? im working with a machinist to make parts for my fxstbi, and was needing some specs for him to work with. other than pull the parts off of my baby and let him use them, any other ideas??? thanks!

If you buy the parts manual for your model, you will have exact description of every fastener on the bike. I am not aware of any info available like length of shift linkage or specs on triple trees though. You may have to take pictures and write down dimensions taking your own measurements.

thanks for the info! that was my next step. i figured that it wouldnt have lengths and what not... imagine all the custom work we would see out there if this information was readily available??? i would think that machinists would try to build a library of some sort. the possibilities are endless...
