Default parts dimensions

hello all! does anyone know where i can go to find specs on dimensions for parts on bikes? like length of shift linkage, or bolt hole sizes on footpegs, or specs on triple trees? im working with a machinist to make parts for my fxstbi, and was needing some specs for him to work with. other than pull the parts off of my baby and let him use them, any other ideas??? thanks!

I've noticed the same thing in the HD catalogs. Pretty annoying at times when you really need some measurements.
