Default checking oil

ok so i've been wondering, checking motoroil is easy due to the checking stick but how about primairy and tranny oil? how do you check that?

the reason im asking is i have a small leak its not to bad but i'd like to keep an eye on it and i kinda dont want to drain the oil and refill it every month or so to see how many has leaked out.

the fill level on the primary is to the bottom of the clutch basket, you need to pull the cover to check it. The transmission on twinkies has a dip stick on top of the tranny that takes a allen wrench to check

if you get tired of your bike marking it territory you might want to think about getting the factory service manual and fix the leak

well thats also kinda why i want to check the oil, if it doesnt leak that much its fine but if after a month half the oil is gone then i will consider, also i cant open your links cause i dont have permission, by the dip stick on top of the tranny that takes the allen wrench do you mean the plug u take of to fill it with oil?

Also, knowing your bike's specifics would help...make/model/year...guessing it's a HD, but what (fatboy)?

oh and when checking the oil does your bike need to be in upright position or on its kickstand?

Upright, check primary though derby cover to bottom of clutch basket, and tranny through fill hole that allen plug has a dipstick if not to bottom of threads in the hole.
