Default Removing Wire Connectors and Soldering Wires Together

Hi everyone,

I just internally wired my new set of bars and I want to clear some space under my tank. I was planning on cutting the connectors that attach the switch control wires and just soldering the wires together. I can solder fairly well so I am not concerned about this aspect, I just wanted to make sure that removing connectors and soldering the wires would not mess any electrical components up. If anything, it seems like a good solder would last a lot longer than exposed wire into a plastic connector.

If anyone has any thoughts or experience, please let me know.

Thanks!

That's OK. The only thing that should not be soldered is O2 sensor wire, but I do not think you have them under your tank.

Yeah those run along the front and rear of the motor, completely out of the way.

Some people will say not to solder on a motor vehicle because vibration can cause the solder joint to break. But I have NEVER had this happen. On the other hand I have seen plenty of crimp joints fail. So I always solder and use shrink tubing.
