If on East side of WI blast 43 and 41 , then 141 if going west, for couple hours and make things easy.

Highway 8 is good East West corridor for WI.

Florence is tore up right now, but does have detours that are not bad

I made the run today. You might try 41 to 47 on Northside of Appleton, then 22, 32/64 to iron river, west on 2 north 16 west 28 to 45.

Black has detour, follow signs. Bonduel just go west and north on side streets.
Might be last Kwik trip you see for awhile.

Not sure if 45 Ramps open on 41. Take 76 or 15,if taking 45 north 47 more rural route

Id blast interstates 100 miles out of Milwaukee.

Dry, bugs not awful, but there is a breeze

I think we stopped at this place on our way through Potosi a couple years ago. Owners were friendly, food was pretty good.

Something to keep in mind going to Ontonagon, there are some longer stretches with no gas. If you go through Iron River that will be the last gas, depending which way you go. Gas station burned down in Covington. if taking 141. Watermeet and Mass City have gas. kenton no gas.

So what is bringing you up to Ontonagon? I know the area some. Going Lake of the Clouds? Are you staying Ontonagon area? Motel Silver City, they re-did Adventure Motel Mass City, not the old mom and pop place. But probably nice. Adventure Mine tour is cool.

Looks like I made a mistake and we are thinking more of Escanaba with as pass through Ontonagon. Someone in the group going spent many summers up there as a kid. He wanted to see how things have changed (or not changed) over the last 20+ plus years.

Ontonagon might little smaller, since the mine and mill closed in the 90s. Escanaba sorta seems the same.

Only going to be so many routes between those two, all state highways. Look at map and decide how you want to do it.

You could take 41 to Marquette and then to Escanaba, some Lake superior shore line. M35 to Marinette is nicer than 41, but trees have grown up on shoreline blocking view. That seems to be typical all over. 95 south to 69 is nice. I just drove 69. There all kinda similar.

If on way home or coming, I would just blast 41 to 43, put the miles on nothing to really see on eastern WI. Save your time for other stuff.. There is construction in Marinette on 41, maybe take 69, or just go through it. No awful, but its contruction slow down.

It is a little out of way, but a quick stop, you will be there less than hour. Cool to see.
