The Vietnam Wall - Memorial Day

The Vietnam Wall - Memorial Day
Long time overdue, I need to visit the Wall and pay my respects. My big brother is listed there and I’ve put this off for too long. Anyone have advice on route or where to stay (or avoid). I will either be going Memorial Day weekend or later in June.
I’m hesitant to go on Memorial Day because of crowds.I've never being there before so I’m not sure if that is a big concern or not?
I’ll be traveling from Dayton Ohio.
Thanks

If you want to ride in with about 3000 other bikes go the Patriot HD website. Follow the link to Rolling Thunder. It ispolice escorted all the way in. There were almost 400,000 people last year.
If you ride in by yourself on Sat. 5/24 there won't be that many people. As far as a place to stay check Herndon Va. It's about 20 miles west of DC. There is a toll road straight into DC. I haven't checked but roomsare around $150.00 per night at the chain hotels. Rooms won't be any cheaper till you get 50 to 60 miles outside of DC.
Best Wishes,
Tony
