As some of you may know, I've just moved back to Vancouver Island after being in Alberta for the past 22 years. The season is just about over there. Can't ride from October/November through April/May where I was. How many of you ride through the winter or pack your bike away?

Last year we rode almost to the end of November (too cold) and then brought them in the house, in the dining room Near the end of January we insured them again and started riding, only 3 degrees, brrrrr. I did buy a heated vest in March which helped, sure could have used it in January. Sad day last weekend, we took the insurance off the bikes....the weather just doesn't look like it's going to be dry enough to ride. I have purposely gone out in the rain before, but one hour of riding equals 3 or 4 days of cleaning afterwards. I'm sure we'll end up getting some temporary insurance between now and spring, it's just too long to be housebound.

I'll keep the Electra Glide insured year round. The shovel I'll see how money is. Right now it's insured till end of Jan. Might let it lapse for a couple months

I'm thinking I'll pull the insurance the end of the month. Kinda would like to keep the plate but they say I have to surrender it if I drop down to storage. It has meaningful numbers, but I'll get over it I suppose. Damn expensive to insure when it's just sitting in the garage. I'm not into getting it all mucked up in the rain.

Just hose it off, it won't go bad Starting to get the itch for a ride. Maybe an overnight ride to Long Beach Toffino area. Heard there's some good campgrounds there

bore, yes there's some good campgrounds and beaches there, but the road there is really treacherous. We went last year, sink holes all over the road........in the shade, could be an unknown hit! This summer we went about half way to Tofino....on the way back I hit a couple of sinkholes in the shade, almost knocked me off the bike........I won't be going that way again till they fix the road

girlster's right. The road between Sprout Lake and Pacific Rim National Park is in very bad shape with a lot of construction. Lots of delays, rough surfaces, gravel and fresh oil for paving. I wouldn't ride their until next spring. Awesome ride though and should be great next season.
