Not happy to be a member of this club, but glad to be riding again after two years on a different set of wheels and still using a cane.
Same old story, some guy needed to make a left turn more than I needed my legs.
I nearly cleared him going behind I caught his rear bumper and it spun me, the results speak for themselves.


I'm Still at it.
Seems I'm a sucker for punishment, but there is something about a bike ride that I just can't get enough of.
If anything this crash made me apreciate it even more,

don't know if i qualify but i would like to join. i had a crash a while back that was strictly my fault. got both sides of the bike and most of me. i healed and so did the street glide, $5500.00 later. i'm always a little scared of that curve though.

Hello all add me to the stats. One fine Sunday ride turned pear shaped when an old chap who was parked on the side of the road, decided that my bike was a gap in the traffic and swung a u-turn as we got beside him. No time to react. We both flew over the car and landed on the road on the other side. Killed my 06 Deluxe and broke the wifes leg and thumb.
Shes healed, gota new bike and we are back in the saddle. Passing cars parked on the side of the road takes on a whole new light.

Been down twice.First time I layed the bike down to avoid someone who pulled out in front of me, (that was in '71) and second time I got high sided on a dirt road after crossing a bridge and seperated my shoulder (in '93). Does anyone know where to get a large H-D "broken wings" patch? Cant seem to find them anymore.

Hey all greetings from Jersey!! While I have mixed feelings about being a member here, I have a story for you all. I was going cross-country on a bike (NJ to CA) in '96 heading east on Rte.80 outside of Flagstaff, AZ with my girl at the time. It was just after sunset when a deer charged into the road and stopped dead in front of me. I was doing around 80 mph at the time and had no time to stop. It was a yearling, fully grown, but no antlers yet. My only thoughts before hitting it were: 1. OH F$%#!!! and 2. If I drop this bike we are both dead. The dear's head and shoulders got caught up in my forks and it was decapitated. I had a windshield on at the time and it was smashed to pieces (probably saving my life in the process) and my front end was decimated. The hindquarters swung around and took out my right knee and then bounced away from the bike. Amazingly though I was able to keep the bike up and stopped before hitting the guardrail, the EMT's had to peel me off the bike because I started to go into shock, and my girl slept through the whole thing and was unharmed. I didn't walk again till about 7 months later and after reconstructive surgery on my knee. Anyway ride safe out there.....

Another member here who never expected to be. Have ridden most of my life, from the old dirt bikes then to the street. Been down twice, first was on a nice sweeping curve the largest varmint I had ever seen came out and stopped to say hello, couldn't miss him and over the bars I went. 14 months later (on the same bike) a nice little 78 year old lady pulled out in front of me, saw me and stopped. State Farm now owns that bike and I got one that isn't cursed and pissed at me. Now I always expect it and hope it doesn't happen again... Ride safe!

Unlicensed uninsured Driver made illegal U-turn in front of me with on coming traffic and stopped. He was released an I was sent to the hospital with shattered pelvis broken left elbow and broken upper left arm. Spent 7 days in a coma 2 weeks in hospital 7 months in a rehab center. I would like to thank the Police department of Taylor Michigan for letting him walk away.(Never to heard from again) I know if it had been one of there officers that had went down thay would have done the same thing.
By the way Lawyers say there is no law suit for losses. My personal insurance covered my medical. Thank you State Farm for your help an not arguing over the payments.

Been down twice, first in "83" when I was rounding a corner on a sharply crowned road and hit some squeezings from a garbage truck. No injuries, bike to the shop. 2nd time a lady turned in front of me to enter her driveway. I was able to avoid the car but not the 12 inch granite curb. Totaled my "98" Heritage and broke my collar bone and left ankle. The investigating Trooper faulted me with accident. He told me the only way he could fault the woman was if I had hit her car.
