thanks-I ran a separate ground to solid metal, like you guys said, and the bulb on the left works fine. I think theres a whole lot of powder coat on my spot brackets. I'm going to grind some powder coat off on both sides where bolts attach--on the right as well, just to make sure. Removed the ugly bolt I put in last night and re-riveted the ground wire so it looks stock again. Thanks for comments and support!

yeah, it's a matter of where to hide the wire. Only small hole through mounting bolt--room for one 18 gauge wire. I want to take the brackets off to turn the kury mounting clamps "back" anyway. So the spots and windshield sit back another inch. Then I can grind just where the bolts make contact. No powder removal will be visible. I was able to get ground from just touching the kury clamps that are bolted to the fork tubes.
After that if I still have issues I'll drill a small hole in the bucket or enlarge the hole in the mounting bolt to accept a second wire and ground to headlamp bucket like you suggest.

Filed down extra thick powder coat on spotlight bracket mounting points and got good ground--finally--and turned 49mm kury clamps back so spots and WS set back about an inch more.

I have been kicking around if I want mustang wide vintage solo or sundowner solo . I had a mustang vintage on my road king and i think the sundowner is more comfortable , how do you like your tripper solo ? I had one on my 1200r

The mustang I have is the wide solo with detach backrest and I can ride all day no problem, the tripper solo I really like for rides up to about an hour, sits nice and low and puts me flat footed and I think looks really good and flows nicely with the back fender
