It's important to have as much turning in the tree as possible. I tried once to live with less and it was noticeable!

Conversion Complete!

Haven't checked here in awhile. I have built my 16 inch wheels for the Street Bob. Rear wheel was from a 2010 Road King, 16X5.00. I removed the hub and spokes from the 17 inch Dyna wheel. I cut about 3 threads off the spokes to slightly shorten them and then laced the Dyna hub to the new rim. Perfect fit and it trued up nicely. Front tire was from an 06 Road King and just needed new chrome spokes. I have under $100 into these wheels so far (eBay). Probably go with Metzeler tires because the 180/65 B16 rear tire is limited in production (2009 and newer). I'll keep posting as things move forward. Thanks for all the advise out there!

Did I ruin my bike? Seriously....

I finished the work on the lower tree. I remove material from the headlight bolt hole boss on the fatboy lower tree and only had to remove a very small amount from the stop block on the neck tube, just had to radius the bottom edge a little and I got the clearance I needed. I don't think it will cause a problem if I ever decide to put the stock front end back on. Then I used my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to modify the fork stops on the fatboy tree and it worked out nicely. I mounted a degree wheel on the top of the neck to measure the stock turning radius before I took my stock front end off and it was 77 degrees. After working on the fatboy stops I was able to get back to 72 degrees of turning radius with about 3/16" clearance with the tank on each side. I'm going to powder coat the lower tree and then start putting everything back together. I can't wait until next season to see how it rides!!

T-sport where the hell were you when I did mine? I had a degree wheel hanging on the wall and not once did the thought of using it cross my mind.
